We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team on a travel or contract basis in Coos Bay, OR and Salem, OR. As a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patient recovery and enhancing quality of life through targeted therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
Implement and monitor individualized care plans under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, ensuring alignment with patient needs and treatment goals.
Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and improve mobility across diverse patient populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and post-surgical cases.
Assist in discharge planning by evaluating patient progress and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth transitions between care settings.
Provide hands-on patient care in various environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health visits, and acute care settings.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively support clinical procedures and patient education.
Utilize specialized techniques such as physiotherapy interventions and trigger point therapy to optimize recovery outcomes while adhering to safety standards.

Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide high-quality therapeutic services to patients, assisting in the implementation of treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall physical function. This position requires a valid Oregon PTA license and a commitment to patient-centered care.Key Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and modalities.
Assist patients in performing prescribed exercises and activities to restore function, prevent disability, and achieve rehabilitation goals.
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist for timely adjustments to care plans.
Educate patients and their families on exercises, safety techniques, and home care instructions within the scope of practice.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment, ensuring compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
Collaborate effectively with the therapy team and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Adhere to all federal, state, and Oregon Board of Physical Therapy regulations and standards of practice.
Qualifications:
Licensed in Oregon or a graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program to work in Coos Bay, OR and Salem, OR.
Experience in post-acute care or similar healthcare environment preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with facility staff to promote highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing.
