Job SummaryThe Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from.ResponsibilitiesConduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspectionsDeliver ready-mix concrete to various job sitesOperate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic lawsClean and wash vehicle to include the removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixerMust be willing to work according to customer demandsOperate a radio to communicate with company personnelAdhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulationsResponsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occurAttend safety meetings as scheduled by managementEducationHigh School Diploma/GEDRequirements/QualificationsMust have current Commercial Class A or B driver's license with airbrakes and tank endorsementSafe driving record - no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 monthsMust have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical CertificateAbility to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructionsMust have familiarity with slumpsGood attendance and punctuality a mustAbility to work in extremes of hot and cold weatherMust have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gearsAdhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulationsMust be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends and nights, may be requiredPreferred:* Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries* 2+ years of commercial driving experienceConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
