Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician-Plumbing/HVACJob SummaryThe Maintenance Technician (Plumbing/HVAC) plays a vital role in keeping facilities and equipment operating safely, efficiently, and without interruption. This position focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation across plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Your expertise directly supports uptime, safety, and continuous improvement across operations.LocationOwatonna, MNWork Hours (Shift)Day ShiftPay (Hourly or Annual Salary)Starting at $30/hr. and up based on experienceResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, overhead hoists, and conveyor equipment.Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Design layouts and complete plumbing installations and upgrades.Install, repair, and troubleshoot machinery with minimal supervision.Perform fabrication work including welding (ARC, MIG, TIG), torch operations, and basic machining as needed.Manage and track maintenance inventory using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Recommend equipment upgrades and repairs to improve reliability and efficiency.Follow safety procedures, use approved PPE, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Skills and AbilitiesStrong mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting skills.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Welding experience (ARC, MIG, TIG) and familiarity with power tools.Knowledge of basic machining; lathe and mill experience is a plus.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.Clear English communication skills for following work instructions and documentation.Safety-focused mindset with attention to quality and detail.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Vocational training or Bachelor's degree preferred.4+ years of related maintenance experience preferred, particularly in plumbing or HVAC systems.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on equipment for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools, parts, and materials as required.Comfortable working in an industrial environment with noise, heat, and movement.BenefitsCompetitive pay starting at $30/hr. and higher based on experience.Paid Time Off (PTO).Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Stock plans and bonus eligibility.Full-time, direct-hire role with long-term stability.Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.1MOH is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
