BHS Technician
JSM Airport Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated BHS Technician at Nashville International Airport (BNA). This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, with an expected commitment of at least 1 year. The primary function of this position is to provide electro-mechanical operational, preventative, and emergency maintenance support.Compensation:Full-TimeWeekly PayHourly Rate: Starting at $25.00 (Dependent on Experience)Work Schedule: Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation). Holidays will be included if they fall on a scheduled workday. Shift assignments are based on the airport and company requirements, as well as a technician's strengths, skill set, and experience. Our technicians are expected to be flexible in terms of prospective shift assignments.Benefits and Perks You'll Appreciate:Ongoing career development and training opportunitiesCollaborate with a team in a dynamic environmentComprehensive health benefitsWellness ProgramPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysEmployee Assistance ProgramRetirement Savings Plan with Company MatchEducation and Tuition Assistance ProgramEmployee DiscountsUniform/Footwear ProgramJobResponsibilities:Work with a variety of tools/hand tools safely and properly, as well as utilize any/all appropriate safety and personal protective equipment (PPE)Ensure uniform is presentable and complete with valid badgeReview assigned paperwork to gather the correct tools and PPE, including picking up radio/battery, assigned preventative maintenance (PMs), work orders, and/or correctivesBe aware of environment; ensure to follow company and federally established policies and proceduresInspect all curbside and ticket counter hardware, cladding, and belts on all three levels of assigned areaConduct assigned PM tasks to report deficienciesHandle E-Calls from BHS control center and ensure proper communication with updates.Properly write out all work orders and correctives with detailed information including time, work, and partsReport to assigned area and check all BHS belts, motors, power-turns, and carouselsPerform basic preventative maintenance tasks, which will include, but not limited to, cleaning of conveyor and surrounding areas, removal of debris from between conveyors. removal and replacement of conveyor cover for inspection and cleaning, and the recognition of potential issues through audial and visual inspectionDiagnose equipment failures under the guidance of senior staffMake minor adjustments to ensure system functionality and reliability pertaining to both electrical and mechanical itemsClear and reset baggage handling system jams in a safe and efficient mannerAnalyze a situation, and communicate effectively with Senior Techs and/or Supervisor TeamTake temperature and speed readings of components and beltingPerform full replacement and adjustment of components, including but not limited to, bearings, motors, reducers, belts (replacement and repair), belts (tensioning and tracking), photoelectric cells, and pushbuttonsPerform general troubleshooting of electrical components (e.g., MCP's, local functional electrical switch boxes, VFD's, ATR's, belt shaft encoders, general wiring)Attend requested/required training, demonstrating a willingness to learnFollow and comply with any company and/or federally established policies and proceduresMake sure to follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure for Team Safety.Follow airport driving policies and speed limitsClean up area and place all tools used in the proper locationProvide the supervisor with completed PMs, correctives, and/or SR work ordersEnsure paperwork has proper information of date, time, reference SR numbers, reference PM number, part number, part quantity, and asset locationsSafety and compliance training is requiredPerform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customerQualifications: High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishMust be able to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematicsMust have at least 2(+) years of mechanical work experienceMust have at least 1(+) year of basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experiencePhysical Requirements:Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all dayThe use of laddersUse of steep industrial stairsUse of maneuvering narrow walkways and industrial catwalksFrequently lifting/moving items that may range in weight up-to 50 pounds, occasionally up-to 100 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusWork safely in a variety of locations that may include moving equipment and electricity, as well as small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, and hot spacesAdditional Requirements: The applicant must be able to successfully pass a drug screen (we promote/maintain a Drug Free Workplace), a driver's license check, a background check, and required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging, for continued employment.Affirmative Action, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Equal Employment Opportunity at JSM:At JSM, we recognize that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is Good for Business.Our goal is to attract good job candidates, retain our best employees, and create a more engaged and productive workforce.
