Radiology Tech Location: Watertown, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position Job Title: Radiology Specialist Assistant Profession: Radiology Specialty: Radiology Duration: Full-time Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Relevant experience in radiology preferred License: Current ARRT certification in Radiography Certifications: BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field - Certification as a Radiologist Assistant or Physician Assistant with a radiology focus preferred - Additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology desirable Description: The Radiology Specialist Assistant provides patient care services in accordance with approved delineation of privileges under the supervision of a physician. This role delivers age-appropriate care across the lifespan and supports the continuum of care through clinical expertise, patient assessment, and collaboration with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include providing medical services to patients within the scope of practice and assigned privileges. Perform patient assessments using age-specific growth and development principles. Deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. Assist supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management. Maintain patient flow and organize clinical workload effectively. Provide guidance and direction to clinical staff involved in patient care. Respond appropriately to emergency situations. Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, and regulatory standards. Maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Perform fluoroscopic procedures, including barium studies. Conduct paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures, including patient preparation and imaging guidance. Place abscess drains using ultrasound or CT guidance, ensuring sterile technique and accurate positioning. Perform bone marrow biopsies, including site preparation and specimen collection. Perform biopsies with ultrasound and CT guidance for various tissues and organs. Perform ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsies as well as marker clip placement. Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to prepare procedure rooms, manage equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies. Document procedures accurately, including procedural notes and imaging findings. Educate patients on procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide pre- and post-procedure instructions.
