Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the maintenance staff. Develops departmental goals,objectives, standards of performance, and policies and procedures in accordance with allthe required guidelines and to ensure compliance with standards that will provide anoptimal environment. Establishes and implements preventive maintenance program tomeet licensing and code requirements. Responsible for a wide variety of skilledmaintenance duties in and around the facility. Performs routine and non-routine activities of the Maintenance Department asrequired. May directly supervise one or more employees. Works as a team memberwith other maintenance staff throughout BHS.Instructs, trains, supervises and evaluates maintenance staff and client workers in the use of equipment and work methods as necessary. Performs installations, services and repairs. Carries out special projects.Determines if tasks can be carried out by in-house maintenance staff. Recommendsuse of outside services only when necessary. Orders various supplies, parts, and materials as needed. Supervises and/or performs other varied maintenance duties including but not limitedto: plasters walls and ceilings; plunges toilets and drains when necessary; repairsbeds; services and repairs exhaust fans; maintains floor machines; replaces fan beltsor adjusts as necessary; maintenance & repair of heating & cooling systems; inspectsand safety checks dietary equipment; checks draft gauges on air handling systems; solders, brazes and welds as needed; installs and repairs locks on doors; checks vehicles.
