SQL Database Administrator100% Remote - CT or ET Business Hours6 Month Contract with Potential for Extension **Unable to do C2C or Provide Sponsorship**Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SQL Database Administrator to join our IT team. The SQL DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our organization's SQL databases. This role involves ensuring database availability, capacity planning, installation, configuration, design, and migration of database systems, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain SQL Server database systemsMonitor database performance and implement optimization strategiesDevelop and implement backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrityManage database security, including user access controls and permissionsPerform database upgrades, patches, and migrationsCreate and maintain documentation for database systems and processesCollaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemasTroubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely mannerAutomate routine database maintenance tasksEnsure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirementsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field5+ years of experience as a SQL Database AdministratorStrong knowledge of SQL Server (versions 2016-2022)Experience with database performance tuning and optimizationProficiency in T-SQL and stored procedure developmentKnowledge of database security best practicesExperience with high availability solutions (Always On, Failover Clustering)Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategiesUnderstanding of cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentSQL Server certification (preferred but not required)Preferred QualificationsExperience with other database systems (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousingExperience with database automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Python)Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with database monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Redgate, etc.)Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH BROOKSOURCE:Direct communication with the hiring manager, which allows us to move candidates through the interview process faster.Dedication to keep an open line of communication and provide full transparency.Benefits & Perks:Brooksource offers competitive medical, dental, vision, Health Savings Account, Dependent Care FSA, and supplemental coverage with plans that can fit each employee’s needs.
