The successful candidate will coordinate and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, system elements, cross-program elements, and customers, as well as participate in reviews, meetings, working groups, task teams, and trade studies. The candidate will supply leadership and/or support for the development of key systems engineering products including requirements, specifications, support program/project milestones and subsequent activities where these products are assessed and matured. The successful candidate will work with the EUS element customers/partners from inception to deployment to ensure stakeholder needs are satisfied. Essential Job DutiesSupport development of requirements and verification products and ensure compliance with these requirements during development, testing and evaluation of EUS sub-elements.Provide technical integration with other engineering disciplines, the EUS Program element, and cross-program elements, including risk-based insight/oversight through assessment of requirements and verification activities.Support the Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) and Engineering Discipline Lead Engineers (EDLEs) to evaluate prime contractor deliverables, including assessments of element Detailed Verification Objectives and verification of allocated end item specification requirements.Support for performing systems engineering tasks and assessments to support the SLS EUS Program through reviews, meetings, working groups, trade studies and development of key systems engineering products to support program milestones.Support for developing integrated schedules and other tracking mechanisms to manage the work and identify risks and opportunities.Support for implementing Digital Engineering best practices, approaches, techniques, and tools.Support for requirement V&V including V&V planning, execution, coordination, and integration for system level requirements to assure design compliance.Communicate technical issues, risks, best practices and lessons-learned related to products, technical positions, requirement management, and V&V practices and develop integrated schedules and other tracking mechanisms to manage systems engineering tasks.Identify, describe, and communicate potential risks related to the products, processes and interactions in the systems engineering processes and document them in the NASA Risk Management System.Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)A degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a BS degree in a related technical discipline from an ABET accredited institution is required.Experience in developing systems requirements, verification strategies, and verification planning as well as facilitating the successful completion of verification compliance activities.Familiarity with Systems Engineering policies and procedures related to verification and experience with using tools/systems to manage verification compliance data.Demonstrated experience working across organizational boundaries and engineering disciplines to facilitate and execute program systems engineering tasks and resolve systems integration issues.Demonstrated experience developing and delivering executive-level briefings, excellent oral, written, and customer relation skills, and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Experience with Digital Engineering tools, such as: DOORS Next Generation, Jira, MagicDraw, or similar tools.Additional Desirable Qualifications:An understanding and knowledge of the current SLS program and a working understanding of the SLS Element interfaces.Knowledge of launch vehicle programmatic planning processes and experience performing oversight of prime candidate hardware production, test, and certification efforts.Familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering policies and procedures.Familiarity with aerospace vehicles and system design.Experience with defining and managing interfaces, interface requirements, and interface verification.Certification in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), particularly Object Management Group@ (OMG)Certified Systems Modeling Professional TM (OCSMPTM) Certification.Physical DemandsSkills and AttributesPosting Detail Information Posting NumberS1016Will this position required travel?YesWill this position required night, weekend, and after hour work?NOWill this positon be supported using grants or contract funding?NoNumber of VacanciesDesired Start DatePosition End Date (if temporary)Open Date04/17/2026Close DateOpen Until FilledNoSpecial Instructions SummaryEach applicant, including all current employees, must complete and submit the following documents:Tuskegee University employment applicationCover LetterResume/CVRecommendation lettersCopies of unofficial transcripts.Please note that official transcripts(s) will be required upon hireQuick Link for Internal Postingshttps://tuskegee.peopleadmin.com/postings/3680
