Special Education Teacher (7 and 8 Grades) - Support for English/Language Arts instructionLocation: Bensalem, PA 19020Key Responsibilities:Assess students' developmental, cognitive, social, and emotional needs and design developmentally appropriate instructionConduct academic testing and use results alongside observations to determine special education placementCollaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement inclusive, differentiated lessons aligned with SLCS curriculaDevelop, monitor, and report on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to established guidelinesEnsure consistent delivery of accommodations, modifications, and other IEP requirementsAdvocate for students to ensure their educational and social needs are metEvaluate student progress and communicate effectively with teachers, support staff, and administrationPartner with classroom teachers to identify and support students at risk academically or behaviorally Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Education or related fieldPennsylvania Department of Education Certification in Special Education (7-12 or K-12) requiredPennsylvania Department of Education Certification in English (7-12) is a plusExperience teaching English/Language Arts preferredFamiliarity with International Baccalaureate MYP or DP programs is an advantageStrong commitment to inclusive education and ability to work collaborativelyExcellent research, planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students and encourage their growth
