Summary This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the accounting department and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures that financial reports comply with regulatory and organizational standards. Supervises, mentors, and develops the accounting team, including setting goals, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations. Delegate tasks and manage workload distribution within the team. Ensures timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. Develops, implements, and monitors internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Ensures compliance with tax regulations. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers. Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and assists in gathering data for tax returns. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement. Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Ensure the company's financial practices are consistent with regulatory and legal requirements. Coordinate and manage external and internal audits. Prepare audit schedules, respond to audit inquiries, and implement audit recommendations. Completes related special projects, as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
