With a foundation of core beliefs and values, LION is committed to keeping first responders and military personnel safer and better prepared through customized protective solutions.The Production Manager is responsible for all functional operations of Cutting and Sewing departments at the Dayton Operation, where LION manufactures Firefighter PPE. This role includes supervision of Production Supervisors and other production support team members.Essential Functions:Ensures compliance to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for the Production departments, including NFPA, ISO, and OSHA standards.Works closely with Production Supervisors and Master Scheduler to ensure production schedules are met within budget, including allocating resources as needed.Leads and develops a culture of safety by ensuring safe work practices, participating in safety audits and meetings, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing countermeasures as necessary.Collaborates with facility and HR leadership to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained in all departments.Develops employees and supervisory staff through coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Focus on employee engagement and retention management. Ensures that the annual performance review process is completed in an accurate and timely manner.Leads cost and efficiency improvement efforts through utilization of Lean tools.Supports continuous improvement efforts by driving lean manufacturing philosophy and practices, supporting and leading Kaizen events, writing and implementing standard operating procedures, and enhancing overall 5S in the facility.Partners with staff at other LION plants to align/collaborate regarding best possible practices and solutions.Implements and provides oversight on multiple projects. Works effectively through management and production team members to ensure timely completion of projects and initiatives.Performs other duties as assigned.Education & Experience Qualifications:Bachelor's degree is preferred, but relevant industry experience may suffice.5-8 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Production Manager, Supervisor, or comparable role.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.Excellent conflict resolution and team building skills.Ability to interact positively with employees at all levels of the organization.Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products.Physical Requirements:Standing, sitting, walking, bending as needed.Hearing and vision required to be within normal ranges with or without correction.Utilization of proper technique to lift objects up to 30 lbs.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
