Senior Java Engineer
Overview:
In this role you design, develop, and maintain features for a high-performance trading platform and Web API, focusing on Java services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, low-latency functionality across REST, WebSockets, and FIX integrations. You'll participate in the full SDLC, write clear docs and tests, and stay current with tools and AI-assisted development to improve platform quality. This is a hands-on, fast-paced opportunity to impact global markets through scalable software. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain features across the trading application and Web API platform (Java services)
- Build backend services and clients integrating with REST, WebSockets, and FIXParticipate in design, implementation, testing, code review, and maintenance of features
- Write and maintain technical documentation and regression tests
- Collaborate with BAs, PMs, and other developers to translate requirements into quality software
- Investigate and resolve complex issues across the stack, providing escalated support as needed
- Stay current with tools, frameworks, and techniques, including AI-assisted development tools
Key requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years experience or Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented design
- Experience with Spring and/or Vert.xRESTful API design and WebSocket/real-time communication in JavaClean, maintainable, well-tested code and technical documentationJUnit or similar testing frameworks
- Multithreading and concurrency with low-latency programming
- Git for version control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communicationexcellent verbal and written communicationstrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesself-motivated with high ownership
