Dock Manager
This individual is responsible for overseeing performance of Dock team, team members are trained and compliant to SOPs, meeting performance requirements, and executing duties in a safe and efficient manner according to expectations. This individual is also responsible for maintenance of the weekly schedule, reporting, ongoing coaching, and corrective actions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Overseeing entire dock operations to ensure all flight assignments are at the docks on time and complete.
Act proactively throughout the shift with his team to ensure that Dock performance standards are met regarding staging, icing process, security checks, DRT and KDT times.
Coordinate with leads to ensure pairings of assignments is optimal and do not pose any risk of delays.
Maintains the dock flow of drivers and trucks leaving and getting into the building, ensuring KAT and dock assignments are met.
Make sure Safety and Food Safety rules are being followed by all personnel on the dock, conducting daily shift briefings.
Partner with security (ACTS) to make sure flights are checked and sealed on time.
Maintain monthly/weekly/daily schedule, manage coverage needs, and request additional team members as operation’s demands.
Effectively delegate duties daily to Dock Leads (Mainline, Express, KAT) and work in conjunction with the Transportation Manager and other department managers for the overall operation.
Conduct spot-checks of flight completion on the dock, based on Checklists (placement of equipment to spec, flights paired correctly on dock, etc.).
Partner with FMT to ensure truck availability.
Attend daily 9am Leadership huddles.
Track daily team performance; provide daily and weekly reporting on DRT and KDT performance and Security updates.
Build and lead a strong team that proactively manages the dock space while ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and safety standards are met.
Proactively partner with Dispatch and Ramp team if any flights are compromised or have at-risk timelines that must be managed according to At-Risk Flight SOP.
Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to increase performance.
Implement corrective actions and disciplinary procedures in case of deviations.
Ensure that team members are up to date and compliant with training, safety initiatives, and safety culture.

Effectively complete all other duties as directed by management.
Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
Constantly check staging areas (Final fridge and Liquors) to meet DRT.
Monitor inventory of cups/water/garbage receptacles/ice on dock and request to Warehouse for restock when necessary to keep proper inventory.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field preferred.
2-4 years’ experience in inflight catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, or food industry managing employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership experience with experience in turnaround environments
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with non-exempt to upper management levels
Ability to effectively handle conflict and de-escalate emotionally charged situations
Good understanding of OSHA, HR, and other employment laws
Good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes
Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Resilient self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment
Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through
Detail-oriented and ability to see big picture
Strong ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
