Join a company committed to building a safer and cleaner future. Job Summary OPW CES is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabrication Technician to support manufacturing and fabrication operations. This role involves cutting, prepping, fitting, and welding raw materials and piping assemblies used in cryogenic and industrial systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with TIG welding, blueprint reading, fabrication, and material preparation in a manufacturing environment. Material Preparation & Fabrication Cut, de-burr, and prepare raw materials for manufacturing processes Read and interpret simple blueprints, drawings, and specification sheets Use tape measures, framing squares, grinders, and metal cutting bandsaws accurately Inspect, label, and stage finished materials for production Follow written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, tools, and equipment Welding & Assembly Client out, fit, and weld piping, instrumentation, vacuum jacketed piping, and structural components Assemble and weld components using GTAW/TIG, arc welding, submerged arc, and other welding methods Position, align, clamp, and tack weld components for final welding Weld along vertical and overhead weld lines Grind and clean excess weld, slag, and spatter Repair and rework fabricated products as needed Assemble spool pieces and final assemblies according to drawings and specifications Inspect welds for quality, bead size, and visual specifications Qualify for ASME Code welding standards as required Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School certification 1–2 years of welding or fabrication experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings Experience using hand tools and power tools Strong measuring and layout skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Qualifications TIG/GTAW welding experience Experience welding in the 6G position Pipe welding and fabrication experience Experience in industrial manufacturing or cryogenic systems Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing Frequent lifting and moving of materials up to 50 lbs Ability to work around mechanical equipment and in a manufacturing environment Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Work Environment Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels Safety-focused workplace with PPE requirements
