Compensation DataThe base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $269,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees.The Senior Associate Director (SR AD), Patient Connection and Culture (PCC), is responsible for creating the strategy for development of patient care partner networks taking into consideration diverse patient populations served by Boehringer Ingelheim. The SR AD collaborates with Head of Patient Experience, to drive processes with cross-functional stakeholders within the firm to enhance Boehringer Ingelheim's patient-centric approach and prioritizing patient experience as the core of all operations.This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site. Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing the content for the Boehringer Ingelheim Patient Portal-PACEOversees the maintenance of the single repository directory of patients participating in Boehringer Ingelheim patient initiativesServes as BIPI’s primary internal point of contact for patient-related matters and in partnership with the Patient advocacy team, ensures effective implementation of the PE strategy across the Company and how it supports a patient-centric cultureOversees all patient engagement activities and manages the Patient & Care Partners network; recruits, hires and manages all membersBuilds and communicates a plan to enhance the Company’s focus on the patientServes as internal champion for the patient culture & experience including garnering and maintaining support for all levels of BIAccountable for supporting the Patient Advocacy team executing the Patient Care Networks, including coordinating ad boards, panels, councils, research etcAccountable for supporting the contracting of patients, ad-boards, panels and provide executional support for the Advocacy relationships spearheaded by Boehringer Ingelheim, in collaboration with inputs from the Brand teams of the respective TAsWorks with the Manager, PCC on liaisons to recruit, contract, and follow up with patients and steps in to handle any escalations or conflicts with the relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth dispute resolutionLeads the Patient Ambassador program (50+ employees), schedules and facilitates monthly interactions and periodic communication with these ambassadors which increases patient centricity and awareness of the patient experienceReports back to the leadership on a quarterly basisStrategy, Facilitation, and Implementation:Identifies Strategic priorities and drive the Strategy development factoring in the diverse patient requirements across Boehringer Ingelheim's expanding portfolio of productsDevelops and builds patient care partner networks closely aligning with Boehringer Ingelheim's strategic priorities in the disease area and future growth potentialRequirementsBachelor's degree required; master’s/advanced degree preferredSeven-plus (7+) years' experience in communications, patient advocacy, patient engagement, patient affairs, employee affairs; experience in project management preferredDirect experience in patient-engagement preferredUnderstanding of patient-focused drug development, patient-centered and patient experience trials, and best practice knowledge in pharma/advocacy group venture philanthropy partnershipsProven understanding of key trends in both internal and external environment that impact PE and PC, specifically in areas that affect Boehringer Ingelheim's work across clinical development programsSolid understanding through experience of patient and consumer trends as it relates to new forms of patient/consumer interactions: e-business, social media, patient online communities, trial simulations and patient registriesProven ability to build relationships and influence key internal stakeholdersStrong analytical skills: strong listening skills and an ability to always maintain composureAbility to work well under pressure, prioritize competing projects and effectively problem solveProven understanding of the needs and behaviors of people living with or at risk for various diseases or conditions of greatest interest to the Company as well as pressing public health issues, including but not limited to patients, their families, consumersProven ability to build and maintain partnerships with key external stakeholdersProven ability to build, maintain and influence effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, medical affairs, public relationsSensitivity to diverse groups of people both internal and external with the ability to show response for many different opinions and perspectives, including tolerance for ambiguityAbility to work with minimal supervision and be an effective team playerSound judgment in decision makingEligibility Requirements:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictionMust be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)Must be 18 years of age or olderOur CompanyWhy Boehringer Ingelheim?With us, you can develop your own path in a company with a culture that knows our differences are our strengths - and break new ground in the drive to make millions of lives better.Here, your development is our priority.
