Job Title: Clinical Resource Nurse - Med/SurgLocation: Sitka, AKPosition Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewThe Clinical Resource Nurse provides expert clinical support, education, and mentorship to nursing staff within a Medical-Surgical acute care setting. This role supports professional development, promotes evidence-based practice, and enhances quality, safety, and patient outcomes. The Clinical Resource Nurse serves as a clinical expert and liaison between frontline staff and leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical support to nursing staff, addressing complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plansSupport the educational and informational needs of new hires, experienced staff, and studentsPlan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation programs, staff education, and continuing professional development activitiesServe as a clinical mentor and practice resource to enhance nursing skills and competenciesAct as a liaison between nursing staff and leadership, communicating concerns, feedback, and practice improvement opportunitiesAnalyze patient care data to identify clinical practice gapsDevelop and implement interventions to address knowledge or skill deficitsApply critical thinking skills in clinical decision-makingAdditional DutiesCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based standards of careAdvocate for patients and families while supporting high-quality care deliveryPromote adoption of new clinical practices, protocols, equipment, and innovationsFacilitate training related to new processes, technologies, and clinical toolsPromote ethical standards and organizational mission and valuesEnsure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standardsConduct quality audits and report nursing-related concerns to leadershipPerform other duties as assignedEducation, Certifications & LicensureNursing degree requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredActive, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific, in good standing)Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart AssociationAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart AssociationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart AssociationExperience RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience as a Registered NurseAcute care experience strongly preferredFor more details reach at jmckenzie@navitashealth.com
