Department Information
This position reports to the Chair of Education.
Job Summary
This faculty position oversees and coordinates all aspects of field placement programs to ensure teacher candidates receive high-quality, well-supported clinical experiences. The position maintains and tracks program admission for teacher candidates. It maintains strong partnerships with schools, faculty, and stakeholders while managing data, compliance, and program requirements related to certification and performance. Additionally, the position supports candidate success, program improvement, and community engagement through effective communication, monitoring, and professional collaboration and instruction.
Responsibilities
Teach Field Placement Courses -
Teach field placement courses and communicate regularly with instructors of field placement courses.
GA Field Placement Meeting -
Attend the GA Field Placement meetings to represent SGSC.
Professional Development -
Engage in continuous professional development with the Professional Standards Commission.
Program Marketing -
Provide positive program PR to the community via digital resources
Monitor Data -
Monitor admissions paperwork and communicate field experience expectations with potential candidates.
Monitor data and performance of GACE for the purposes of remediation.
Required Travel -
Travel to each campus and partner school sites as necessary.
Field Placement Data -
.Monitor Field Placement data (including teacher candidate records, attendance, CAPS, Dispositions, supervisor and mentor survey data, Field placement hours)
Provide Updates and Facilitate Meetings -
Update all faculty on any field placement concerns during faculty meetings.
Facilitate field placement supervisor and field placement mentor meetings.
Coordinate and Communicate Placement Needs -
.Communicate and coordinate placement needs with partner schools (logistics and communication).
Maintain Records -
Maintain accurate records for certification and liability insurance.
Maintain accurate mentor records for certification.
Program Orientation -
Assists colleagues in coordinating initial program orientation.
MOUs Administration -
Maintain accurate records of MOUs, prepare MOUs for renewal and communicate with partner districts on behalf of the program to renew MOUs.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree including 18 hours in the teaching discipline
Other Required Qualifications
Skills in Excel and the Microsoft Suite
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms
Proposed Salary
