STS Technical Services is hiring Assemblers in Butner, North Carolina, to support equipment assembly in a hands-on manufacturing environment.This position is responsible for assembling mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components using detailed work instructions, blueprints, schematics and a variety of hand, pneumatic and power tools. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented and comfortable working across multiple assembly areas as production needs change.Position OverviewThe Assembler safely builds equipment according to detailed instructions provided by Supervisors and Group Leaders.Assemblies vary in size and configuration and require the use of mechanical, electrical and manual assembly techniques. This role also supports accessory installation, drilling and tapping, overhead crane operation and general production activities.ResponsibilitiesAssemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulic components using power tools and manual techniquesInstall equipment accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lightsSafely operate an overhead crane to position partsUse hand and pneumatic tools including wrenches, hammers and torque gunsMeasure parts and components accurately using tape measuresDrill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small componentsRead schematics, blueprints and Standard Work InstructionsIdentify required options and assembly requirementsLift and stack subassemblies and parts weighing up to 35 pounds independentlyParticipate in team lifts for parts weighing up to 60 poundsCross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as neededFollow written and verbal instructionsMaintain attention to detail and established quality standardsMaintain a clean and safe work areaFollow safety procedures and 6S standardsPerform other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsAbility and willingness to work overtime as neededAvailability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required by business and production demandsAbility to maintain regular and reliable on-site attendancePreferred QualificationsAt least six months of experience in manufacturing or general laborPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and stack parts and subassemblies weighing up to 35 pounds independentlyAbility to participate in team lifts up to 60 poundsAbility to safely use hand, pneumatic and power toolsAbility to work throughout a manufacturing and assembly environmentAbout STS Technical ServicesSTS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading aerospace, manufacturing, defense and industrial organizations across the United States.
