Research Associate, Scientific BiopharmaLocation: Newark, CA 94560Employment Type: ContractBusiness unit: TeneoBioDuration: Initial 3 months with likely extensionsJob Summary:Obtain assignment and follow scientific direction of client staff, flag issues, and seek guidance appropriately.Demonstrate independence and ability to produce quality results under minimal directionGenerate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and laboratory notebookPerform cell culture and cell-based assays (cell binding, T cell dependent cytotoxicity, reporter assays, etc.)Operate a specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation (i.e. FACSCelesta, SpectraMax i3x, etc.)Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate and troubleshoot to solve problems.Basic Minimum Qualifications:B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology or related degree1-3 years industry experienceExperience with flow cytometry and cell-based assays highly preferredTop Must Have Skill Sets:Cell Culture experienceFlow Cytometry experienceCell-Based Assays experienceDay-to-day Responsibilities:Maintain appropriate cell lines in cultureAssess binding of molecules to cell lines using flow cytometryPerform cell-based assays to assess functional activity of moleculesEmployee Value Proposition:Possible extension (planned project), unique experience / opportunityRed Flags:Lack of mammalian cell culture experienceLack of basic knowledge of flow cytometryInterview Process:There will be at most two interviews conducted: one phone interview and a follow-up interview (either virtual or in-person).
