Email Developer (Part-Time)
Join a fast-moving lifecycle marketing technology team as an Email Developer, where you’ll own and evolve an AI-enabled email development platform that helps scale high-quality communications across global audiences. This hands-on role blends technical ownership, collaboration, and strategic thinking to improve email production workflows, build reusable systems, and support international templating needs.
10 hours/week | Pacific Time (PT)
Responsibilities
Own and improve an existing email development tool, with a focus on scaling its capabilities and increasing production quality
Partner with design, marketing technology, and engineering teams to translate visual designs into production-ready email HTML
Build and maintain a modular component library for common email elements such as headers, footers, CTAs, content sections, and image blocks
Create email templates that work across multiple marketing automation platforms, including Iterable and HubSpot
Support platform-specific requirements such as merge tags, HubL, and fields.json implementation
Establish and refine QA processes to validate rendering across major email clients and devices
Help ensure templates meet accessibility standards and support inclusive, usable email experiences
Develop documentation, usage guides, and training materials to support team adoption and consistency
Collaborate on international template needs, including localized variants and market-specific rendering considerations
Balance ongoing support requests with longer-term platform improvements and workflow efficiency
Skills
6-8+ years of professional email development experience
Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and MJML for email development
Hands-on experience with Iterable and/or HubSpot
Experience building and maintaining reusable email component libraries or design systems
Deep understanding of email rendering behavior across major clients, especially Outlook
Experience implementing dark mode considerations in email
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver within a structured timeline
Clear written communication skills for documentation and async collaboration
Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and contribute to team leadership when needed
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting email localization for markets such as Korea, Japan, Germany, and France
Familiarity with CJK font stacks, line-height adjustments, and text expansion planning
Experience with Figma or other design-to-code workflows
Background in lifecycle marketing or product marketing email programs
Exposure to AI tools or AI-enabled workflows in email development
Experience working in fast-paced environments where priorities may shift quickly
Experience supporting high-volume email programs with broad reach
