We're hiring a hands-on technical leader to architect and scale our VMware Cloud Foundation platform; someone who can turn cloud strategy into reality.The Principal VCF Architect drives the design, implementation, and adoption of VMware Cloud Foundation across the enterprise cloud ecosystem. This role leads large-scale modernization initiatives, defines architectural standards, and guides strategy for private/hybrid cloud platforms built on VCF. The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in VMware technologies, large-scale infrastructure design, and cloud automation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that influences enterprise-wide solutions.Responsibilities/Duties:Lead the end-to-end architecture of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)-based private cloud platformsDefine and govern cloud architecture standards, patterns, and reference designsLead multi-year modernization initiatives, including legacy migration to VCF-based SDDCCollaborate with executive leadership to shape cloud strategy and roadmapArchitect and oversee deployments of VCF management domains and workload domains, vSphere clusters and vSAN storage, NSX-T networking and security segmentation, and SDDC Manager lifecycle operationsProvide deep technical guidance on design decisions involving compute, storage, and network virtualizationEnsure security, compliance, resiliency, and scalability are embedded into all solutionsDefine automation standards using tools such as Aria, Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, or vRealize Automation / Aria AutomationDrive automation of cluster provisioning, lifecycle management, and self-service capabilitiesOptimize performance, resource utilization, and workload placement across VCF environmentsServe as the highest-level subject matter expert for VCF within the organizationMentor cloud architects, engineers, and operations teamsAct as the primary technical liaison to VMware and other strategic partnersLead architectural reviews, design workshops, and solution governance boardsPerform other related duties as assignedExperience and Core Competencies:10+ years of experience in enterprise virtualization or cloud engineering5+ years specializing in VMware cloud platformsExpert-level experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere ESXi & vCenter, vSAN design & operations, NSX-T networking & security architecture, and SDDC Manager lifecycle automationStrong background in designing highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructureExperience with multi-site architectures and stretched clustersProficiency in automation tools (PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, Aria)Strong understanding of network architectures (BGP/EVPN, overlay/underlay, distributed firewalls)Demonstrated experience leading large-scale cloud transformation projectsVMware certifications such as VCDX, VCIX, VCP-DCV, or VCP-NV preferredExperience with Kubernetes platforms (Tanzu, OpenShift, or similar) preferredStrong understanding of Zero Trust and modern security architecturesBackground in scripting or programming (Python, PowerShell)Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps practices, and SRE frameworksExecutive-level communication and presentation skillsAbility to translate complex requirements into actionable architectureExcellent leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration abilities Physical Requirements: Lifting Up to 50 poundsFrequent walking, sitting, standing, bending.This job description is a summary and is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
