Production Engineer 1

We are seeking a motivated Production Engineer to join our team and assist with the production, maintenance, and modification of existing product lines throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical principles, the ability to contribute to the design or update of mechanical components, and familiarity of manufacturing and assembly processes to assist in product development efforts.
Key Responsibilities Assist production & warehouse staff with product questions/concerns
Oversee complex orders to reduce production slowdowns and minimize errors
Inspect final product by verifying necessary criteria and specification have been met
Create assembly jigs and test procedures to assist production
Work closely with Inside Sales and New Product Development (NPD) to ensure full understanding of complex orders and new product prior to going to production
Create product support documentation, including, but not limited to assembly instructions, production instructions, controls and process specification
Product Maintenance Incorporate design improvements or new options to existing products
Take a value engineering approach to existing products to reduce cost, improve manufacturability, and assist production
Issue drawings to fabrication shops, while working alongside said shops to better the design
Assembling and analyzing prototypes and finished components
Maintain and create Inventory items in ERP system
Create accurate mechanical drawings, following Nulite's standards
Maintain and revise existing models, assemblies, and drawings
Work with warehouse/production team on material quality; ongoing part inspection, and rectification of anomalies
Conduct various tests for lighting fixtures: Structural integrity; deflection, twist, and bow
Thermal integrity; heat dissipation from light and/or power source, expansion/contraction
Warranty / Job Correction Provide technical support to solve and rectify warranty claims
Occasional travel to job sites when necessary
Work with vendors to determine a cause of failure and a solution
Requirements A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 0-3 years of professional experience
Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work comfortably with both electrical and mechanical components
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
On occasion, should be able to: Lift up to 50 lbs.
Climb a ladder.
Stand for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions Office environment with 50% being on the computer and 50% working in the manufacturing plant
May be exposed to heat/cold as typical in a warehouse setting
Safety equipment will be worn when necessary
Occasional travel for job corrections
Compensation Range $60,000 - $75,000 per year
