ING is a global bank with a strong European base and more than 60,000 colleagues serving over 40 countries.About the PositionWe are looking for a Head of Trade and Commodity Finance (TCF) Americas who has a strong understanding of the regional TCF market and extensive knowledge of wholesale banking products and risk management. The successful candidate will be a seasoned people manager, acting as a leader in a complex functional and regional matrix organisation. The role reports hierarchically to the Head of Sectors Americas and functionally to the Global Lead TCF, leading a team responsible for managing and monitoring the existing portfolio and originating new clients and transactions across the Americas.The Head of TCF Americas is responsible for the strategic direction and management of ING’s Commodity Finance franchise in the Americas, primarily accountable for the commercial performance in the region, driving P&L targets and steering on risk and return. The position is a member of both the global TCF Management Team and the Sectors Americas Management Team, contributing to strategy setting, governance and cross‑franchise alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesFurther develop the TCF US strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall ING wholesale banking strategy and the global TCF strategy.Set and develop long‑term plans for the region, identify growth opportunities and drive differentiation of customer value proposition versus competitors.Pursue and drive digital innovation and evolution of the TCF franchise with a priority on scalability, operational efficiency gains and NFR mitigation.Facilitate the origination, structuring and execution of new commodity finance transactions across the full spectrum of commodities including energy, metals and soft commodities.Manage and monitor an existing portfolio of lending exposures.Coordinate with global TCF colleagues on the management of global accounts and liaise with respect to regional market intel.Support and expand existing client relationships in core lending products and through cross‑sell initiatives with FM, WCS, M&A, CS&A and DCM.Pitch and coordinate efforts regarding TCF’s receivable discounting product (OPU).Represent the Americas region as a member of the TCF Management Team and provide senior representation and thought leadership externally, including attendance at industry conferences.Collaborate on marketing and branding initiatives with Communications.Ensure full KYC, regulatory and compliance compliance in accordance with ING procedures.Attract, engage and develop talent, building high‑performing teams and mentoring junior colleagues.Monitor market developments, identify new commercial opportunities and maintain relationships with other banks active in the market.Qualifications and Competencies15+years of work experience in the TCF industry.Proven track record of managing a team and deep knowledge of the Americas region’s dynamics, customs and practices (international experience preferred).Proven ability to manage and grow key client relationships.Strong commercial acumen, ability to execute and wealth of deal/transaction experience.Experience developing and implementing new organisational strategies and prioritisation.Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management.Strong commercial and credit skills.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field; MBA preferred.Registered Series79 and63, or commitment to obtain within six months of joining.High‑level stakeholder management and ability to balance strategic direction with regulatory changes.Capability to translate wholesale banking and TCF vision into specific direction for the team.End‑to‑end thinking, including full value‑chain consideration and execution planning.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $315,000–$385,000 (base salary only).
