Superintendent – Civil ConstructionLocation: McDonough, GAIndustry: General Contracting – Civil, Sitework, and GDOT InfrastructureCompensation: $100,000 – $140,000+ (DOE)Position OverviewA highly regarded General Contractor with a well-established presence throughout the Southeast is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for civil, site development, and GDOT projects in the McDonough and South Metro Atlanta region.The Superintendent will play a critical role in ensuring successful project execution, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and providing strong field leadership. This position is ideal for an individual who is committed to operational excellence and values working within a respected and supportive construction organization.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide daily on-site supervision for civil, sitework, and GDOT roadway projects.Coordinate field activities involving crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.Uphold strict compliance with all safety policies, quality expectations, and project schedules.Review and interpret civil plans, grade stakes, design documents, and technical specifications.Partner with Project Managers to support project planning, scheduling, and logistical coordination.Establish and maintain effective communication with inspectors, engineers, clients, and other project stakeholders.Lead, mentor, and support field personnel to promote a productive and high-performing jobsite environment.Ensure adherence to GDOT standards, local regulations, and company procedures.QualificationsDemonstrated experience in civil construction, earthwork, utilities, site development, or GDOT-related projects.Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to effectively manage multiple field operations.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized jobsite.Experience completing daily reporting and utilizing basic scheduling or project management tools.Years of experience are flexible; proven field leadership and a track record of successful project performance are most important.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $100,000 – $140,000+, commensurate with experience.Company truck or vehicle allowance provided.Consistent backlog of civil and GDOT infrastructure projects.Supportive and collaborative leadership team that empowers Superintendents to manage their work effectively.Opportunities for professional development and long-term career advancement.Family-oriented work culture with strong employee retention and longstanding industry relationships.Interested candidates are encouraged to apply or contact:steven.hassen@hays.com
