This is a hybrid contract role supporting a major data warehouse modernization effort. The role involves managing a blended team of onsite and offsite developers, including resources provided through a third-party data management partner.Onsite presence is required three days per week (20 to 30 hour work weeks) to work directly with business stakeholders during a highly visible implementation. Someone who can step in, bring order, and keep a blended onsite/offshore development team moving.Day to Day Responsibilities: Own project management for a data warehouse and analytics platform initiative spanning sales, inventory, and labor dataServe as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, translating business needs into clear technical requirementsLead requirements gathering sessions with business partners and executive stakeholdersRun daily standups and manage the development backlog using Agile toolsHelp map current-state data structures and guide the transformation into refined, analytics-ready layersTranslate executive-level KPI and reporting needs into actionable deliverablesPresent status, roadmap, and risk updates to senior leadershipCoordinate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and procurement as new capabilities roll outSupport the long-term vision of department-specific analytics and AI-driven reportingRequirements:5+ years managing enterprise data or business intelligence projects, ideally in a data warehouse or platform modernization contextStrong understanding of data warehouse concepts including data layering, transformation, and structuring unstructured data for reportingProven experience working directly with business users and non-technical stakeholders, not just development teamsExcellent requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication skillsExperience with modern cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, or similarFamiliarity with Agile project tools such as Asana or JiraComfort operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment with executive exposureBonus points: Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience is strongly preferred but not required.
