Nursing Manager Inpatient Hospital - Sign-on bonus up to $10,000
The Nursing Manager is responsible for overall administration of nursing care, treatment, and services for the Psychiatric Hospital. This includes oversight of nursing staff, development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.Duties/Responsibilities:Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. These essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.Lead and manage the Nursing and Patient Services Teams, ensuring staff are well-trained, supported, and compliant with all mandatory training requirements.Oversee recruitment, hiring, and retention strategies to build a high-performing team.Responsible for performance reviews, competency reviews, time-off approvals, disciplinary actions, payroll processes, and career development initiatives.Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirementsImplement process improvement and education for nursing staff where neededProvide education to nursing staff and ensure department compliance with training requirementsDevelop competency of nursing staff to ensure safe and high-quality patient careEvaluate staff performance of patient interactions, completion of duties, and documentationManage adequate nurse staffing plans to meet the needs of the patientsProvide leadership to the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide nursing input to treatment planningCollaborate with psychiatric providers to lead medical staff in providing effective and safe patient careCollaborate with hospital leadership to achieve organizational goals and improve patient outcomesServe as the Nurse Administrator for regulatory agencies (example, CMS refers to the Nurse Administrator as the Director of Nursing Services).Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements:Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending, lifting, twisting) in the work area.The position requires the ability to engage with patients who may become violent and to participate in physical patient holds using approved techniques when necessary. Required Qualifications:Education: Master's degree in nursing, or bachelor's degree with extensive education and experience in psychiatric care.Experience: Prefer two (2) years in a psychiatric inpatient setting and management experience in a hospital setting preferred.Certificate or Professional License:Active Indiana nursing license in good standing. Psychiatric nursing certification preferred.CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.Valid driver's license and active auto insurance coverage.Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checksMust be a minimum25 years of age.
