Warehouse Associate
Position Overview:
The Warehouse Associate will execute a shipping schedule that meets our customers order requirements. Working with sales, purchasing and service he/she is responsible for daily customer orders fulfillment activities within the assigned area(s) of a distribution company. This position is responsible for demonstrating safety and operational expertise within a quality and productivity driven environment. This position will be required to proficiently perform at least one or more distribution-related activities (e.g. order filling, shipping, receiving, stock parts) on a regular basis. A strong understanding of international shipping, safe warehouse operations, ERP computer systems and inventory management is required for success.
Responsibilities:
Ships orders in accordance to company and/or customer routing guide.
Processes outbound shipments in ERP system & via carrier for small parcel, small package UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL and/or international shipping requirements.
Properly completes and stores advance shipping notices, pack slips, commercial invoices, proforma invoices, bills of lading, customs documentation, etc.
Issue call tags and return labels for RMAs • As directed ensure proper handling and processing of damaged shipments and freight claims.
Receive orders and returns, disposition inbound shipments and put away parts and finished goods.
Rebox items with packaging damage and complete inventory transfers.
Load/Unload trucks.
Contribute to a safe work environment through continuous focus on housekeeping and safety; Practice Lean and 5S principles to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse.
Report warehouse supplies that need to be reordered to supervisor
Participate in the implementation and contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvements to the distribution process in a group setting
Performs other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
>2 years international shipping experience
>2 years warehouse operations and inventory management experience
Forklift certification or license preferred
Ability to frequently lift, push and slide packages that typically weight up to 50 lbs (unassisted) and up to 70 lbs in weight (assisted).
Ability to stand and walk for a full 8 hour shift
Strong computer skills - ERP systems, MS Office, UPS WorldShip, etc.
Strong, consistent work ethic with ‘team first’ focus
Well organized, good communication skills, and attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
