STRUCTURAL CAD OPERATOR

Othon is currently seeking a Structural CAD Operator for immediate full-time employment at the Houston, TX location. We are looking for a self-motivated, aggressively enterprising individual wanting to expand their career opportunities within a growing consulting engineering firm. The applicant will be responsible for providing assistance to engineers and engineering technicians for the following activities: • Produce plan sheets pertaining to highway bridges Including the following items: bridge layouts, foundation layouts, foundation details, substructure details, superstructure layouts and superstructure details. • Prepare three-dimensional (3D) CAD models for the above noted bridge components. • Perform calculations related to the basic geometry of highway structures. • Perform calculations for material quantities related to the above bridge components. • Review the work of other CAD technicians for the quality control process. • From time to time, help other design disciplines within the organization such as roadway and traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design and intelligent transportation systems. Minimum Requirements • An Associate of Applied Science degree in CAD Drafting Technology or other related degrees. or • High School Diploma, a CAD Drafting Certificate, and 2 years of relevant experience. or • High School Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience. Preferred Requirements • Knowledge of MicroStation drafting software.
