Curriculum Supervisor- Multilingual Education Secondary level
A vacancy exists for a Curriculum MLD Supervisor for the Secondary level within the Norristown Area School District. This position will be either middle or high school level.The Multi-Lingual Development (MLD) Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the academic success of Multi-language learners (MLLs) within the Pennsylvania School District. This position requires a deep understanding of language acquisition principles, instructional strategies, and educational policies. The MLD Supervisor will collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to implement effective MLD programs and provide professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.Requirements: Master's degree in education from an accredited college of universityPA Curriculum and Instruction Supervisory Certificate or PA Administrative Certificate RequiredPennsylvania ESL certificationBilingual in Spanish is PreferredMinimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including experience working with MLLsDemonstrated leadership experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating MLD programsStrong knowledge of language acquisition theories, best practices in MLD instruction, and cultural competencyExcellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze data, develop action plans, and monitor progress towards goalsFamiliarity with educational technology tools and resources for MLD instructionResponsibilities: Program Development and Implementation:Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive Mult-Language Development programs that align with state and district standardsCollaborate with school administrators and instructional leaders to ensure MLD programs meet the diverse needs of MLLsMonitor the effectiveness of MLD curriculum, materials, and resources and make necessary adjustments to improve student outcomesProfessional Development:Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers and support staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in MLD instructionConduct workshops, training sessions, and coaching sessions on effective MLD strategies, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching practicesCollaborate with external experts, educational organizations, and community resources to access additional professional development opportunitiesData Analysis and Assessment:Utilize data analysis tools to monitor the progress of MLLs and identify areas for improvementInterpret standardized assessment results to inform instructional planning and intervention strategiesWork closely with assessment coordinators to ensure that assessments are appropriate for MLLs and provide meaningful data for instructional decision-makingCompliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding the education of MLLs, including language proficiency assessment requirementsPrepare reports and documentation as required by district and state education agenciesStay informed about changes in MLD policies, laws, and regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholdersCollaboration and Communication:Foster positive relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, and community members to support the academic success of MLLsCollaborate with other district supervisors, instructional coaches, and support staff to integrate MLD initiatives with broader district goals and initiativesCommunicate regularly with school leaders and district administrators to provide updates on MLD programs, student progress, and resource needs Salary: 12 Month, Full-Time 2025- 2026 salary schedule - Prorated0-5 Years of Experience: $ 143,963.27 6-10 Years of Experience: $ 148,223.26 11-15 Years of Experience: $ 152,483.26 16-20 Years of Experience: $ 156,743.25 21-24 Years of Experience: $ 161,003.25 25+ Years of Experience: $ 165,263.24
