Senior Food and Beverage Buyer (55009)

Please note: a resume is required for this position Pay Rate: $27.50 an hourSUMMARY: Negotiate and purchase goods and services for the Food & Beverage division. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform Requests for Proposal (RFP) and quotes (RFQ), negotiate prices, analyzes bids and prepare supporting documentation, recommendations and justificationsMaximize profits through high quality, cost effective purchasesEnsure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and maintain records for auditsExecute of required procurementMonitor, set and adjust food and beverage specification and PARs, including disposables, chemicals, equipment and suppliesNegotiate bids and prepare procurement contracts and stocking agreements for reviewMaintain strong partnerships with vendorsComplete reports and analyze and compile information to facilitate improved practicesEvaluate market conditions and recommend new products and suppliers to enhance standards and increase profitability, which may include attending events and exhibitionsMaintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contractsConsult, advise and guide buyers on practices, processes and standardsKNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge and Certification Required:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience4-year Business Administration degree or related field and 3 years of related purchasing and negotiating experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceSkills Required:Accurate and detail-orientedHighly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesStrong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Windows and purchasing software applicationsExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent problem solving, negotiating and conflict resolution skillsProficiency in sourcing products and suppliersAbilities Required:Ability to work fast and efficientlyAbility to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygieneAbility to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to serve both internal and external customersAbility to control purchasing expenses with a cost effective mindsetAbility to manage purchases in a timely and efficient mannerAbility to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voiceAbility to remain focused for extended periods of timeAbility to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under pressure while remaining professionalAbility to make decisions and solve problems through analyzation and evaluationAbility to exercise ethical standards upholding Treasure Island's values and policiesREQUIRED TRAININGTreasure Island guest service trainingTreasure Island purchasing software applicationsAny position-related training as determined by department managerPHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to sit for long periods of time with occasional walking and standingMust have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneelMust be able to reach and twist routinelyMust be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinelyMust have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds occasionallyMust be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motionsMust have good eye hand coordinationWORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in the administration building but may require going onto the gaming floor, which has flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke; May also require going into the kitchen and warehouse, which has fumes and hot and cold temperaturesMust be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidaysExtensive computer useOvertime may be requiredOccasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
