What’s The RoleThe Des Plaines Terminal is a pipeline terminal that handles gasoline and distillate products for distribution to Shell customers. The terminal receives product via pipeline and truck and ships out product via a truck loading rack and pipeline operations. Terminal operators are responsible for all operational duties related to the receipt, storage and distribution of its products.What You’ll Be DoingSpecific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Compliance with company procedures and government regulations related to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) and various agency permitsGeneral maintenance and housekeeping in support of terminal assets to ensure a safe, secure, and environmentally sound operationHandling, receiving, transferring, shipping, and storing of petroleum products via pipeline and truckBasic problem solving on loading rack malfunctions and other terminal systemsBasic knowledge of computer input and stock reconciliationQuality assurance sampling and testing of productsTerminal Operators are accountable for thorough and complete compliance with company and regulatory procedures in the execution of their jobs. Examples include:Compliance with the Shell Midstream US HSSE ManualCompliance with the Measurement ManualFamiliar and compliant with environmental manuals such as the FRP and SPCC plansWhat We Need From YouMust have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerMust be at least 18 years oldMust have a minimum of a high school diploma or GEDMust be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customersMust possess a current, valid driver's licenseWilling to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodationWilling to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodationWilling to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without accommodationTo attend to emergencies, successful candidates must reside within 60 minutes of the site, or be willing to relocate to within 60 minutes of the site without relocation assistanceWilling to work a rotating shift work scheduleWilling to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekendsWilling to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergenciesWilling to support the company's drug-free work environment, which will include random drug screeningsWilling to support and comply with the company's harassment-free work environment policyWilling to support and comply with the company’s safety policies and initiativesWilling to support and comply with the company's diversity and inclusion work environment policiesRelevant/related Military experience will be consideredWhat We OfferThe base salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.For regular full-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
