Nonferrous Metal (except Aluminum) Production and ProcessingDepartment StoresEmployment ServicesOutpatient Care CentersHome Health Care ServicesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee job production on the lathes on the designated shift to ensure acceptable performance according to company productivity, quality, and on-time delivery goals and standards. Provide machine and job assignments to machinists and other assigned personnel. Discuss machine performance and any production or quality concerns encountered with Quality Control, fellow shift leads, department supervisors, shift supervisors, and/or the Plant Manager. Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Troubleshoot and address problems during set-up and production on the lathes. Set up, and produce parts on CNC machines, as needed, according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements. Proactively address potential areas of concern within the department to minimize disruption in daily operations. Provide and document training to staff on proper machine operation, and set-up. Review employee performance and provide documented reviews under the EIMCo Quality Manual. Recognize superior performance from staff members and address any disciplinary issues directly and professionally. Communicate productivity, quality, and delivery performance data with staff to promote continual improvement. Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards and customer requirements. Complete accurate daily records (date, time, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system. Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints. Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections under the EIMCo Quality Manual. Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately. Coordinate with the Maintenance Department on all preventive maintenance scheduling for department equipment. Maintain the assigned work area clean and orderly and comply with all 5S procedures. Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all EIMCO Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the EIMCo Safety Manual. Maintain all required documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes.
