Math Tutor (TEAS Preparation - Nursing Pathway)

Math Tutor FVI School of Nursing and Technology is seeking a Math Tutor to provide in-person academic support to prospective nursing students preparing for the TEAS Exam. Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (In-Person, On Campus) This role is focused on strengthening students' foundational math skills, improving test readiness, and supporting successful entry into the nursing program. Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-person tutoring sessions focused on TEAS math preparation Break down math concepts into clear, practical, and easy-to-understand steps Identify student skill gaps and provide targeted remediation strategies Support students with practice problems, test-taking strategies, and time management techniques Assist in building student confidence, particularly for those with math anxiety Track student attendance and engagement (light documentation) Collaborate with Academic Leadership and/or the Success Coach on student progress Minimum Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field Prior tutoring and/or teaching experience (academic or test prep preferred) Strong knowledge of basic math, including: Fractions Ratios and proportions Percentages Basic algebra Word problems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with adult learners at varying skill levels
