Day.Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, MI is seeking a LABORATORY ASSISTANT II to join our IRONWOOD CLINIC team!The primary responsibility of the Lab Assistant is to rapidly respond to telephone inquiries from clients, provide rapid telephone reports, accurately order tests, perform phlebotomy, process biological specimens submitted for laboratory testing and ensure client satisfactionHours: This position is Full Time; 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period.3-4 days a week in the clinic setting, day shift. Will also rotate 1-2 days a week through hospital lab, with some weekend 6A-6P shifts, and some weekday shifts, which vary from 6A-2P, 7A-3P, 8A-4P and 10A-6P.Experience/QualificationsKnowledge of customer service standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.Medical training in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant desired.One to two years of experience in a health care setting, clinical lab preferredExposure to order entry software desiredKnowledge of medical terminology and lab tests helpfulEmployee BenefitsFull benefits packages available for part- and full-time status.PTO accrual from day one!Generous retirement plan with match available.Wellness program for employees and their families.Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day.
