Fully dedicated team of automation engineers across the AWS landscape to perform automation functions. In 2.0 they use control tower. Exp with control tower is required. Experience with preventive guardrails is important. They will have software skills like ability to write code. Python preferred. Have regular DevOps knowledge. AWS developer role to dev scripts. And have exp with control tower. Cross between a developer and a DevOps engineer and more on automation. There are a lot of automation tasks involved.DescriptionThe Cloud Automation Engineer is a member of a team that is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining core infrastructure automation in a multi-account Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. The role works closely with IT areas and other customers to locate manual or semi-automated processes and design solutions to fully automate and streamline them. As a part of the Automation Team, the role is responsible for building automation components that are centrally stored and maintained, obtained through self-provisioning, and systematically applied. The role is further responsible for articulating automation benefits, defining and documenting automation standards, and developing and communicating guidelines, best practices, and insights on where and how automation can be established and applied. The role will also conduct research, POCs, and other activities to validate, promote, and expand automation efficiencies and will work with respective IT areas to introduce new automation techniques, tools, and methods.ResponsibilitiesIdentify, design, implement, maintain, and/or expand library of automation components that can be easily deployed and enhanced across the IT organization including but not limited to: Control Tower maintenance including OU architecture and account onboarding/offboarding. Guardrails for all OUs. Service automation in cloud supporting Infrastructure-as-Code. Process engineering and operational improvement initiatives for automation tooling focused on cloud. Changes to manual or semi-manual business and software processes to increase efficiency and speed of operations. Automation domains and develop specific automation plans for each, including provisioning, development, versioning, maintenance, and reuse policies for automation artifacts (scripts, configurations, etc.) Metrics to identify and measure automation including time savings, improved compliance, error reduction and improved efficiency. Document and communicate automation standards, guidelines and best practices. Work closely with DevOps Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Cloud Engineers in identifying and expanding automation opportunities.RequiredExperience in modern software paradigms including cloud applications and serverless architecture. Experience in the design, development, and implementation of AWS-based infrastructure solutions using AWS APIs, and Python with boto3. Strong scripting experience in Python and PowerShell/Bash. Experience with cloud orchestrations tools like AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform, with an emphasis on creating modular architecture. Experience with AWS IAM. Proficient in using Git branching, push/pull requests, and advanced Git workflows. Experience with core AWS services like EC2, S3, SNS, Lambda, CloudWatch and CloudTrail.PreferredCDK, Control Tower, AWS Control Tower Customization Solution. Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines. Experience in containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or Fargate/EKS/ECS.
