Job Description
Responsibilities:Work independently or with other skilled painters painting interior and exterior surfaces of residential and commercial properties.Read blueprints and instructionsMix paint and other materials to prepare for correct color or texture.Apply varnish or other finishesInstruct on site Painting Apprentice in job plans for the day. If no apprentice on site, make on site preparations: Apply protective coverings, such as masking tape, to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes.Prepare wall or other surfaces for painting. Fill cracks or breaks in surfaces of plaster articles or areas with putty or epoxy compoundsNeed to be able to work extensively on ladders.Set up scaffoldingUse sanding and buffing tools and equipmentKeep work area clean and free of hazardsCommunicating with Job SupervisorMaintaining high customer service standards positive testimonialsAttending weekly safety and training meeting.Maintaining a positive attitude.Requirements & Skills:Previous experience in residential or commercial painting requiredStrong knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniquesSolid knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply themManual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.Aptitude in using appropriate tools, brushes, caulking guns, etc.Ability to prioritize and focus on your current taskWillingness to guide / instruct Painting ApprenticesWillingness to learn and advance within the CompanyConscientious with strong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsCustomer service skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
