Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.We’re looking for an EHS leader who can keep up with the pace of tunneling operations and proactively manage risk in a high-pressure, underground environment. This role supports multiple tunnel projects and requires a sharp, field-first safety mindset. You’ll be embedded with operations teams to ensure compliance, drive safe behaviors, and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental outcomes.ResponsibilitiesMonitor daily field operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policiesPerform regular tunnel and surface inspections, including pre-shift walkthroughs, equipment checks, air quality sampling, and confined space protocolsLead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventative action implementationConduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and toolbox talks with crewsMaintain EHS documentation, training records, and regulatory reportsSupport emergency response preparedness and training exercisesCollaborate with superintendents, miners, and technicians to identify and mitigate job-specific risksQualifications7+ years of experience in construction or heavy industrial EHS roles - tunneling, mining, or oil & gas preferredStrong working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA (preferred), confined space, LOTO, and respiratory protection standardsExperience conducting field audits and writing JHAs, incident reports, and environmental compliance documentationComfortable working in underground environments and around heavy equipmentCSP, CHST, or equivalent certification is a plusCultureWe're a team of dedicated, smart, and scrappy people.
