Histology Technician Evening Shift Roseville, MNThe Histology Technician plays a vital role in supporting accurate dermatologic diagnosis by preparing high-quality histologic slides for microscopic examination. This position works closely with the Histology Manager, Pathologist, and clinical teams to ensure precision, efficiency, and compliance throughout all phases of laboratory testing. The role focuses on tissue preparation, staining, and quality control within a fast-paced dermatology laboratory setting. This position is essential to delivering timely, accurate results that directly impact patient care.Schedule: MondayFriday, 12:00 PM 8:30 PM (Evening Shift) No weekends or holidays. Hours may be negotiable based on candidate availability.Qualifications for Histology Technician - Evening Shift Associate degree in Histology or related laboratory science (in compliance with CLIA 493.1489), including completion of an approved histology internshipMinimum of 1 year of histology technician experienceStrong attention to detail with excellent fine motor skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environmentBasic computer proficiency and effective communication skillsAbility to follow all safety, compliance, and organizational policiesHT or HTL (ASCP) certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire)Dermatology and/or Mohs histology experienceExperience with immunohistochemistry and special stainsResponsibilities Prepare high-quality histologic slides for microscopic examination and diagnosisPerform embedding, microtomy, cutting, staining, and tissue preservation with precisionConduct H&E staining and prepare special stains, including immunohistochemistryReceive, accession, label, and track tissues, slides, and cassettes accuratelyPerform dermatology-specific grossing and Mohs tissue mappingEnsure proper tissue orientation, minimal artifact creation, and optimal microtomy techniqueMaintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and inventoryMonitor quality control processes and comply with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA standardsTroubleshoot staining, processing, and equipment issues as neededCollaborate closely with the Histology Manager, Pathologist, and clinical teamsMaintain accuracy and efficiency across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phasesPerform additional duties as assignedWork Environment & Physical Requirements This role is performed in a laboratory setting within a dermatology clinic and may include travel to other locations as needed.Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while embedding, cutting, and staining tissueFrequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands for fine motor tasksAbility to lift or move up to 10 poundsVisual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functionsBenefits & Perks Pay range: $30 - $40 per hourMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchingPaid time off (PTO)Life insurance, wellness program, and employee discountsOngoing training and professional developmentNo weekends or major holidaysAbout Tareen Dermatology Tareen Dermatology is committed to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art dermatologic care with an emphasis on early diagnosis, patient education, and comprehensive skincare.
