Network Engineer (Level 2) – Contract-to-HireLocation: Woodlawn, MD (Hybrid)Schedule: Currently 3 days/week onsite Compensation: $50/HR Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipEmployment: W2 only Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust   OverviewWe’re hiring a Network Engineer (Level 2) to support a large, complex enterprise network environment. You’ll work on network design, deployment, operations, and troubleshooting across wired and wireless infrastructure—partnering with technical teams and stakeholders to keep services stable, secure, and scalable.This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, improving network performance, and supporting real operational outcomes in a large environment.What you’ll doDeploy and support enterprise wireless LAN infrastructure (APs, controllers, configurations)Analyze current network configurations and determine implementation needsConfigure and troubleshoot routing protocols and complex switching environmentsPrep equipment for deployment (software loads, configs) using pre-engineered templatesCoordinate equipment/cabling needs and support on-site install activitiesUpgrade existing network hardware/software to enable new features/functionsPartner with field installers/contractors during site surveys and installationsContribute to network documentation: diagrams, standards, procedures, and runbooksProvide Tier 3 troubleshooting; participate in occasional after-hours/weekend support as neededIdentify opportunities to improve network performance, reliability, and service deliveryRequired qualificationsTypical experience expectation: 5–8 years (BS/BA) or 3–5 years (MS/MA) (or equivalent practical experience)CCNP (or equivalent) required; strongly preferred if Wireless-focused (e.g., Wireless Specialist)Experience implementing/configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) (e.g., Cisco 300-715 SISE aligned skills)At least 3 years hands-on routing/switching experience in medium to large enterprise networksAbility to obtain Public Trust (suitability)Nice-to-havesCisco expert-level written exam passed within the last yearPython scripting and regular expressions3+ years implementing Cisco ISE in large enterprise / multi-data-center environmentsExperience with VPN technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA) and large campus/multi-office WLANStrong written/verbal communication (able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences) System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
