ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Crane, Indiana. This is an onsite position.As a core Mechanical Engineer II on our innovative team, you'll be deeply involved in the full spectrum of engineering activities – from initial research and design to seamless integration, rigorous testing, and insightful analysis. You'll focus on developing critical defensive cyber technologies, ensuring mission assurance, advancing command and control systems, and building resilient tactical networks. If you're an enthusiastic and proactive engineer who excels in collaborative, dynamic environments and is driven to make a tangible difference, we encourage you to apply!Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToDesign and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA)Perform engineering analysis, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and vibration analysis, using FEA and CFD toolsSelect appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances for mechanical designsDevelop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the performance and reliability of mechanical systemsTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development, testing, and production phasesCollaborate effectively with electrical, software, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systemsCreate and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentationStay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practicesParticipate in design reviews and provide constructive feedbackContribute to continuous improvement efforts for design processes and methodologiesPotentially mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and techniciansMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or equivalent education and years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably with a focus on electronic systemsProficiency in using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for design and documentationKnowledge of material selection, manufacturing processes, and GD&TPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Mechanical EngineeringFamiliarity with environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810) and EMI/RFI shielding principlesExperience designing mechanical solutions for military, aerospace, or other harsh environment applicationsKnowledge of cybersecurity principles and their implications for hardware designFamiliarity with TEMPEST requirements or other security-related design considerationsExperience with data center cooling or high-performance computing thermal managementUnderstanding of cable management best practices for secure environmentsClearance RequirementsMust have a current and active SecretPhysical RequirementsThe person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
