Control Systems Estimator

Muth Power Solutions is seeking a Control systems estimator to support our continued growth in industrial automation and custom control systems. This role is ideal for an experienced Controls Engineer or Technician ready to bring their technical knowledge into a fast-paced estimating and customer focused environment.You will be responsible for creating accurate estimates, building strong customer relationships, and helping drive new business. This position reports directly to the Muth Power Solutions Manager.Key Responsibilities:Develop detailed estimates for control system projects, including labor, material, subcontractor, and equipment costsInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer scopes of workAssist in development of design assist type of work through communication with the owner/customerFollow up on submitted bids and work closely with customers to answer questions or clarify proposalsAttend turn-over meetings as required for each projectAttend pre-bid meetings to understand scope of workAttend face-to-face meetings with potential customers to understand their needs and build relationshipsTrack and pursue opportunities listed on public bid platforms and procurement sites as well as reporting any new opportunities to immediate supervisor.Interface with vendors and suppliers for accurate material pricingCollaborate with the engineering, panel shop, and project management teams to ensure estimate alignmentMaintain organized records of all bids, pricing, and communicationsSupport business development initiatives and contribute to strategy discussionsStay up to date on the latest means and methods required within the control systems scope of workPreferred Qualifications:5+ years of experience in control systems, automation, or related technical fieldBackground as a Controls Engineer, Technician, or similar role strongly preferredFamiliarity with PLC and HMI programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)Strong knowledge of UL 508A and UL 698A panel design and assemblyUnderstanding of hydraulic and pneumatic control systemsExperience with structured cabling and OT/IT networkingAwareness of machine safety standards and best practicesHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple active estimates at onceStrong communication and interpersonal skills
