Representative Role Overview A leading middle-market investment bank may seek a Financial Sponsors & M&A Analyst to assist in originating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions , particularly with private equity sponsors and alternative investors. This role provides exposure to deal sourcing, financial modeling, sponsor relationship management, and client deliverables , making it ideal for candidates pursuing careers in investment banking, private equity, or leveraged finance.
Key Responsibilities Support senior bankers in managing relationships with private equity and financial sponsors
Assist with deal sourcing and transaction pipeline management , tracking sponsor activity and portfolio company opportunities
Conduct industry, market, and company research to support M&A advisory engagements
Build and maintain financial models , including LBOs, DCFs, accretion/dilution, and other transaction analyses
Prepare pitch books, teasers, investment memoranda, and client presentations
Assist with due diligence, data room organization, and execution of live M&A transactions
Collaborate across deal teams to ensure smooth workflow between sponsor coverage, M&A execution, and client strategy
Maintain accurate deal flow tracking and CRM reporting to support internal and client reporting
Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field
Strong interest in private equity, financial sponsors, and M&A advisory
Excellent financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
Strong communication and presentation abilities for internal and client-facing deliverables
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Prior experience (internship or full-time) in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance is beneficial
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools, and financial research platforms
