Prep Cook - Crooked Hammock BrewerySummary of Position: The Prep Cook at Crooked Hammock Brewery will cook and prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List. Must Enjoy the Ride!Duties & Responsibilities:Complete opening and closing checklistsRefer to the Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned dutiesPrepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipmentUnderstands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and proceduresPortions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specificationsMaintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipmentAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementPromptly reports equipment and food quality problems to the Kitchen ManagerInform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortagesUses our Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products. Do not rely on the memory of yourself or other employeesPerforms other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-dutyAssumes 100% responsibility for quality of products preparedKnows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and proceduresHandles, stores and rotates all products properlyLive the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business every timeQualifications:1-3 years full-service restaurant kitchen experience preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Culinary degree preferredMust be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United StatesMust have reliable transportation to/from workMust possess strong understanding of cooking methods & procedures, and knife handling skillsAbility to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detailAbility to read & follow cooking directions and other instructions pertaining to the positionAbility to remain calm in a fast-paced environmentBasic written & verbal communication skillsMust be organized with a self-starter & motivated work ethicMust be a team playerMust be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry heavy materials up to 50lbsCompensation: This position starts at $16/hour and offers awesome employee perks.
