Minimum Requirements for Project Level Mechanical Engineers
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering program
United States Citizenship Required
Current Professional Engineering License in North Carolina or Virginia (or ability to apply immediately)
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD
Working knowledge of Revit/BIM
Strong knowledge of MS Office
Reports Daily to Raleigh, NC
Preference will be given to Candidates demonstrating:
10+ years of professional experience in consulting engineering design
Revit Modeling Experience
Project Management experience
Proposal preparation (business development) experience
What You will Do - This is an experienced position involved in non-routine and complex assignments. The Project Engineer works with the Project Manager(s) to develop design concepts which are incorporated into the final product by Staff Designers and Engineers
The ability to work on several projects at once and to continuously reprioritize work is critical in this position. This position combines work in the office with some field work. Moderately high stress may occur because of heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and supervisory duties.

Typical Duties as Project Engineer
Producing sketches and system schematics for complicated design tasks
Incorporating design concepts from schematic design into design development
Documenting existing conditions
Troubleshooting of existing installations and designs
Editing construction specification sections
Attending construction meetings and producing site observation reports (occasional local travel required)
Producing final punch lists
Researching non-routine code issues
Preparing addendums and change orders
Preparing opinions of probable cost for materials and systems and reviewing contractor cost estimates
Value engineering
Putting own work through the quality control review process
Reviewing technical work of others
Responding to comments from review authorities

This position is intended for our Williamsburg, VA office. However, candidates with a proven history of design experience will be considered for our Raleigh, NC office.
