To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills so as to promote the educational development of each student through research, planning, and evaluation.Qualifications:Education/Certification:A Master's degree, with a major in Educational Administration.Mid-Management Certification or a valid state certificate to practice as a school principal.Special Knowledge/Skills:Experience:At least five years of experience as a teacher.At least three years as a successful school administrator.Experience in STEAM/STEM areas of instruction (preferred).Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.Major Responsibilities and Duties:Provides instructional leadership in STEAM related courses for students in Grades 10-12.Maintains campus administrative oversight of the STEAM Center instructional programs consisting of daily field trip experiences of district PK-8 students to the STEAM Center.Consults regularly with the campus and district leadership in support of achieving the deliverables and goals identified in the District Strategic Plan regarding STEAM endeavors.Represents and coordinates the district activities in STEAM Center Partnerships in collaboration with campus and district leadership.Provide leadership in the development, coordination, and successful execution of fall and spring community events to promote engagement and strengthen community partnerships.Develops, plans and organizes professional development and instructional coaching in STEAM related areas.Assists district leadership teams and classroom teachers to implement research-based school improvement practices and instructional strategies.Demonstrates working knowledge and use of instructional strategies for working with the diverse needs of students.Assists teachers and professional learning teams to design and analyze formative assessments and modify instruction to meet student academic needs.Provides direction, assistance and support to improve student achievement by focusing on research-based programs, student assessment results and instructional strategies for at-risk learners.Collaborates with various department(s) to provide career planning activities and programs.Promotes the professional growth of the faculty by planning, organizing and presenting worthwhile in-service programs which meet the individual and group needs of teachers.Assists in the coordination of master schedule.Coordinates campus instructional technology integration.Participates and assists with campus and district teaching and learning activities.Analyzes data results to inform area for needed improvements in instruction.Facilitates professional learning communities and data assessment teams.Uses data to analyze effectiveness of instruction and intervention and works with teachers and administrators to plan improvement.Promotes and recognizes high standards of scholastic achievement, citizenship and attendance.Develops a school-wide plan to monitor student success.Monitors and supports classroom instruction to ensure the use of sound teaching practices consisting of evidence based instructional practices which implemented with fidelity.Establishes and maintains clear communication and cooperative working relationships with variety of educators and groups.Assumes administrative responsibility and instructional leadership, under the supervision of the High School principal for the planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of the educational program of the school unit, utilizing to the best possible advantage, employees qualified to perform effectively in the position of which they may be assigned.Establishes with the faculty, the goals and objectives of the instructional program in accordance with school policy and procedures, and in keeping with the stated educational philosophy of the school district.Submits recommendations concerning assignment, evaluation, promotion, and dismissal of all personnel assigned to the school unit.Designs an assimilation process that orientates newly assigned staff members and assists in their development as appropriate.Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations with special emphasis given to accomplishing the goals of the campus and district.Participates in various meetings for the purpose of receiving information or sharing information and expertise with students, colleagues and parents/guardians.Assumes responsibility for his/her own professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations.Attends District Administrative Team Meetings.Works to ensure that programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.Compiles budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.Performs other related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervises and evaluates the assigned STEAM Center staff.Customer Care Skills:Mental Demands/Physical Demands:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travelMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stressSalary:Pay Grade PG07, $495.32 - $584.81 daily rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.
