Residential Staff - OVERNIGHTS
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Residential Staff for our Residential group homes within our Adult Mental Health program sited in the Holyoke and Chicopee, MA areas of Western MA. This opportunity if for an awake overnight schedule.Your role as Residential Staff:The residential direct care team members are the primary caseworker for a number of persons served, providing direct services to individuals with mental health diagnoses who live in twenty-four hour staffed residences. Overnight residential staff focus on engaging persons served to help maintain both their physical and mental health, supporting their activities of daily living, advocacy, and providing opportunities to optimize independence, rehabilitation and recovery.Responsibilities:Supporting persons served in activities of daily livingAdvocating for persons served within various community settingProviding opportunities to optimize independence, rehabilitation, and recoveryDevelop professional and supportive relationships with persons served and provide informal counseling and guidance with a person-centered focusRequirements and preferences: Position requires candidates to have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.Those with Associates or Bachelor's degree in human services or related discipline are preferredCandidates must have a vehicle for work use and a current driver's licenseAll candidates must complete and pass a background record screening processOne year experience working in the human services field, behavioral health and/or recovery supportsThose with MAP, CPR and First Aid training preferredAbility to work an awake overnight shift Success Factors: Ideal candidates will have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; empathy for others; demonstrated commitment to serving those with significant needs; the ability to work well within a team model and independently as well as computer skills.
