Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team. This long term Contract position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge software solutions. You will leverage your expertise in test automation, performance, and security to drive best practices and contribute to our Agile development lifecycle.Purpose:The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will ensure developed software meets requirements by performing QA/UAT, developing test plans and scripts, supporting test efforts, and coaching other SDETs.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with product, design, and development teams to understand business requirements and communicate risks.Create and execute test plans/scripts to assess application quality.Analyze test results, report defects, and follow team best practices.Develop, maintain, and enhance automation tests/framework libraries (Java, Groovy, Kotlin).Conduct code reviews to enforce object‑oriented design and maintainable automation code.Establish QA measures and testing standards in collaboration with peers.Communicate test progress, results, and application quality.Coach QAs in test environment/data setup and management.Improve product test reliability, coverage, and accuracy.Demonstrate commitment to Hyatt core values.Must‑Have Skills:Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development process.Experience writing JUnit or TestNG tests.Kafka queue experience.Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Git/Subversion version control.Proficiency in Java, XML, JS, CSS, HTML.API/service testing (REST/SOAP) using SoapUI, Postman, or equivalent.CI/CD pipeline creation/maintenance (Jenkins, Azure).Deep expertise in Java/Groovy, Selenium/Appium automation frameworks.Experience & Qualifications:5+ years direct SDET experience in major application integration/product release.Experience coaching junior team members.Strong skills in analyzing business requirements and creating thorough test coverage.Proficiency in documenting defects with detail and accuracy.Cross‑browser/platform web & mobile testing (SauceLabs or equivalent).System log troubleshooting (Splunk or similar).Hands‑on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software.Preparation/maintenance of test data and scripts.Strong knowledge of software testing best practices/methodologies.Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
