Structural Engineer

Overview In this role you contribute as a Structural Engineer II/III within our team, mentoring junior staff and representing the department in client discussions. You will translate design concepts into AutoCAD/Revit drawings and 3D models, while ensuring code compliance and constructability. The position emphasizes field verification, solving on-site issues, and advancing toward the SE exam. You’ll work in a hybrid setup, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver reliable structural solutions. ResponsibilitiesProduce AutoCAD and Revit drawingsDevelop 3D models using Revit and NavisworksPrepare structural scopes of work and material take-offsReview shop drawings and submittals from fabricators and vendorsPerform simple structural calculations under supervisionVerify field conditions and constructability, assisting on-site resolutionMentor less experienced engineersParticipate in client meetings as department representativeFamiliarize with and apply AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC and related codesUnderstand and interpret construction drawings (Plans, Sections, Details, Piping Isometrics)Demonstrate familiarity with Valdes A&E structural work practicesAim to sit for the structural engineer (SE) examDevelop proficiency in Risa 3D, PROFIS, MathCAD and other department software Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering3-5 years of structural engineering experienceRefined understanding of statics, dynamics, steel and concrete designBasic technical report writing skillsBasic 2D/3D CAD skillsBasic Microsoft Office skillsExceptional interpersonal and organizational skillsMust be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the futureinterpersonal skillsorganizational skillsteam collaborationAutoCADRevitNavisworks
