Job Title: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)Work Location: 5th Medical Group, ND194 Missile Avenue, Minot AFB, ND, 58705Tentative Start Date: May 01, 2026 No. of FTEs Required: 2 FTEWork Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts between 0730 and 1900. The primary shift will be . Uncompensated 60-minute lunch break.(Normal duty hours are expected to align with the medical treatment facility clinic schedule. Specific hours will be determined by the Government based on mission requirements) Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing program approved by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Experience: Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience within the last three years in a clinical or hospital setting. License/Certification: Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license from any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required. Responsibilities: Serves as a Practical Nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. Orients new patients to the clinic/hospital environment and assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed. Provides individualized patient teaching on appropriate topics to include preventative healthcare and health maintenance. Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic testing, examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures. Performs appropriate portions of medical examinations, treatment, diagnostic, and clinical procedures. Identifies and records patient problems and appropriately notifies provider/nursing team of observations. Prepares and administers medications in accordance with scope of practice and training. Recognizes and responds to emergencies and performs basic life support measures. Performs appropriate portions of physical examinations including age-appropriate physical measurements. Adheres to infection control procedures including use of personal protective equipment, disposal of waste, and aseptic techniques. Performs central sterile supply duties and ensures all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed. Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine administrative or medical needs. Maintains patient medical records in electronic format as well as hard copy as required. Prepares and submits administrative reports. Participate in training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques, and equipment. Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits, establishes and maintains appropriate, professional, interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers, and other team members.
