Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Stratus. We want the candidate for Mechanical Engineer to become an integral part of our team! Stratus is a consulting engineering and design company specializing in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Information Technology Systems for K-12 educational facilities, higher education facilities of all types, health care facilities, commercial buildings, animal care facilities, retirement facilities, and local governments.Primary Essential FunctionsProduce holistic designs of mechanical HVAC systems, including schematic conceptualization, load calculations, equipment selections, layouts, piping, and writing specificationsDesign and create MEP schematics for large K-12 construction and renovation projects using BIM software, and perform resource consumption and energy analysis on MEP systemsDesigns will result in producing 100% complete construction documentsLead design teams on projectsAbility to communicate well with clients, junior, and senior staffAnalyze and interpret design verification dataWill be able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environmentAssist with coordinating design verification activities, including assigning roles and responsibilities in the verification processAs needed, work with established outside vendor(s) regarding product oversight, timelines, and quality controlQualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university4-5 years of experience in engineering design and project management with a consulting engineering or A/E firm, specialization in mechanical engineeringPE is not required, but is highly preferredEIT completedStrong client skillsStrong organizational skills are requiredExperience in completing MEP construction design documents in Autodesk RevitEqual Opportunity StatementStratus is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy-related conditions, and lactation), gender identity or expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.
